Schütz on the Telly!

For those of you far away who have never had the inestimable pleasure of meeting me in person, you can now establish a "virtual" aquaintance by watching this video of an interview I gave on our local Community TV station Channel 31 on the "Spirit of Life" program. Click here to watch the program.

Egads!

I just realised how long I have known you - more than half our lives.

You are the only person from high school who I still have any contact with. And it takes a blog to do it!

Yes, it is scary, because the blog is our only contact now. I hope that can be adjusted in the near future. Be sure to let me know if you are coming down to the big smoke at some stage so we can catch up in person.

There is one other person from those years in Immanuel that I still have close contact with. We have always continued the friendship, but he is now my wife's pastor at Box Hill.

The blogger of the Archdiocese and a TV star!!! Very interesting programme which was pure Schutz at the end!!

It was unfortunate that you share a common name.

What a treat! Handsome, articulate...and you have a great accent! In fact...the way you say "Lutheran" is so appealing if we said it that way in the States I might still be one!

Seriously...it is nice to be able to see this and get a better glimpse of you as a person than what just reading your writings can offer.

Well, shucks, Dixie... you've made me blush with all that flattery. You can come back and comment any time!

The accent is pure South Australian. It is quite distinct from the Victorian accent (Melbourne is in Victoria). Last night the children were talking about their "chance to go to a dance"--using the nasty short hard "a's" of the local lingo rather than the more civilised and pure long "ah" of the Queen's English as we speak it in Australia. Lucky for me I married a Victorian woman who was "taught how to speak proper", and she instantly corrected them.
