New Blog "Jews Christians and Muslims working together"
These three ugly fellows (Reader: You can talk, Schutz!) were my companions in recent days at the 2008 JCMA (Jewish Christian Mulsim Association of Australia) Conference. They are Dave Moskovitz (a Jewish New Zealander), John D'Alton (Antiochian Orthodox Priest, preivously a Church of Christ minister), and Mark Pederson (a convert Muslim)--knaves all three, but excellent fellows to boot. Whenever someone mentions ecumenicalism I reach for my Bible:
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
"He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad" (Matthew 12:30 KJV)
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Where is Light and where is Darkness? Yes, Christ is the Light, but how far into the darkness does his light shine? Are we not told "the Light shines in the darkness"? (John 1:5)
My point, old Col. Boy, is that you cannot simply quote bible passages without thinking things through a bit. And believe me, there is a lot to think through.
