CatholicsComeHome.org - Makes you proud to be Catholic!
This is really good stuff. I heard the guys who created this campaign on EWTN with Fr Mitch Pacwa today, and I am really impressed. Apparently the response to the ad campaign and the website of CatholicsComeHome.org has been very good. Can we have this here?

Makes me proud to not be Catholic.
Would make me, if I still were Catholic, want to vomit.
Interesting how while the cheap emotionalism and loaded language (come home, now who wouldn't do that) is the same as ever, the focus has changed over time.
Time has granted victory to the Revolution, and the assumptions behind the approach are now more oriented to those scandalised by or a victim of sexual predators in the clergy, other abuses, or that priest who stood in the way of, bluntly, getting what you want.
That this mixture of emotionalism, culture and pagan hierarchicalism fronted under the name of Jesus has nothing to do with him, the catholic church or for that matter the Catholic Church, that no Catholic is home in this fake because it isn't home -- well, with the Catholic Church dead and buried for a good generation know, who would know, or now even suspect?
your comments should not be contained to the Catholic Church. They could also be aimed at Rick warren and Brian McLaren and the "Gospel ' they are preaching. And as you would know more than i PE the arguments that are going on right now in the USA over these things. One can look at the Hillsong church cabaret worship sunday mornings -from sydney- and make the comment " is this really Christlike/"
Ummm? I guess they didn't have you guys on the focus group when they trialed this ad. I think its terrific. What's not to like?
Of course, PE's comments are reducible to the usual diatribe, but I find it hard to see what this ad has in comon with the style of the megachurches.

And therefore worth ignoring. Anyway, I love it, David so you're not alone.
It was Belloc who said of the Catholic Church "Under that roof the soul finds home and hearth. Outside it, is the night." And I'm not sure that Belloc (d. 1953) was one for being overly sentimantal, in general.
And of course, we all know that Our Lord Jesus Christ was never emotional, nor ever employed emotional language. His descriptions of hell are sufficiently vivid to make me not wish to go there.
Catholics ignore anything not handed down by the great god Rome. That's what it takes to be Catholic.
Belloc was referring to nothing like the church of this video.
You're quite right, Matthias. Or at least I can say, I agree with you. The postconciliar RCC is the original megachurch, offering a postmodern brand of feelgoodism with a Christian veneer instead of the Gospel.
Whoever "comes home" to this has found nothing like the Roman Catholic Church.
I actually enjoyed it though. Good to see that what this church is calling home is nothing at all like the home the Roman Catholic Church was when it was still around and home to me.

Well, you'd have to ask him about that.
Bottom line: everything you say about the Church is all about you, PE.
Yeah, since the Church is never wrong, which we know because the Church, which is never wrong, says it is never wrong, then anyone who says the Church is ever wrong has nothing to say, it's just them.
Pathetic and postconciliar to the core.
But another reason to be proud to be not Catholic.
PE your touchstone is simply your feelings that what the Church is now is not what it used to be.
I would say that that is true in some of the externals, but not really in its substance.
You are a Christian, but none of us could be Christians without the Bible - which we all revere, in spite of the fact that you keep asserting the exact opposite - and who gave us the Bible? The Church.
I'm not arguing with you any more until you can be a bit more civil in your discourse generally.
You pull out the old "oh, nothing really changed except some externals" I've been hearing for forty years and THAT'S not same old, same old?
The externals were changed precisely because of a change in essentials. The dark side of lex orandi lex credendi. The "reformers" (not the real ones, Vatican II) knew that and counted on it. I was there. It obviously worked really well.
So well that what one was taught by the RCC itself is now just one's "feelings". Been hearing that for forty years too. Sorry, I was there too. Hearing what I was objectively taught by the RCC called just style and feelings more than anything else (and there's quite a bit else) confirms that this church is an utter fraud as the RCC.
Civility is not measured by the willingness to call black white.
