Call me mad, but I've always been sad that the Official (or for that matter the unofficial) Monster Raving Loony Party never won a seat at the British General Election.
After all, their policy promise to abolish income tax, which was after all only introduced as a temporary measure during the Napoleonic Wars, seems to be me the acme of silly sobriety.
