Happy Birthday Sentire Cum Ecclesia
At the end of January each year, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI remembers the feast of the Inauguration of Sentire Cum Ecclesia, and extends his blessings to this blog and all its readers.
Ta, Your Holiness. Your blessing is bearing fruit - January 2009 saw more than 7000 visits to this site. (Thanks to all our readers, and enjoy our feast day!)

I've gotta know - did you really get an Apostolic Blessing for your blog, and if so, how?
I must keep up with the Schützes!
What do you think, Joshua? :)
Mind you, I have heard that it is so easy to get one of these apostolic blessings it is funny that people don't try harder...
I am told that the office that deals with these requests draws up all the certificates for each blessing and then his Holiness wanders in and blesses the whole pile before they are posted...
True.
Well, true that I was told that.
And here was I thinking that down in some Vatican basement nuns slave away loading piles of trinkets, certificates and pious dross onto a long conveyor belt that slowly drags said items right up into the Papal apartments, so that, as Benedict writes away at his office desk he can from time to time pause and bless the curious parade of benedicenda passing by in an open slot...
Happy Anniversary!
The Blessing is very nice. May you
continue to receive them.
We had a family member do some
research years ago. Sadly, no such Blessings were found! But, amazingly, we have a record of Great Great....(etc) Grandfather
holding the "Deed" for an Indulgence. We calculate, with compound interest, that a very tidy
Reward is payable!
Holy crap, my blog's anniversary is next month! I better get a call in to the Purple Palace, aka the Violet Vatican, in St Louis, and see what I can line up!
Thanks again for visiting, Vicci. I thought when your first comment appeared that you might just be a "blow through" (as opposed to a "blow in"). If you are going to be a regular visitor, I should introduce you to the crowd.
Vicci, meet Past Elder, Christine, Louise, Paul, Matthias, Joshua, Cardinal Pole, Pastor William, Dr William, Pastor Fraser, Tony, Orrologion, Peregrinus, Tom, everyone else whom I might have left out of that list, and, of course, everybody's favourite: Anonymous.
