John Paul II Institute Spe Salvi Colloquium (Days in the Diocese 8-10 July)

I am participating in this Colloquium on the first evening (July 8) presenting on the topic of Purgatory in Spe Salvi. It looks like a good program!

BTW, David, have you ever read St Catherine of Genoa's Treatise on Purgatory? "Tis short and well worth consulting, being a mystic's view of how suffering and thirsting for God in this life is an image of Purgatory in the next.

I have seen it referenced, and understand that a good deal of the "modern" approach to purgatory comes from this treatise. I will try to get it and read it.

The link on my comment should take you to the Treatise (in translation): it's very short, and quite readable.

BTW, you mentioned in a comment on another of your posts that there are various errors that have grown up around the doctrine of Purgatory. I'm curious to hear of these.
